How do you upgrade to an iphone 4 online with a family plan?

Q. I want to buy the iphone 4 online because i want the refurb discount but I have no idea how I would upgrade on a family plan with online options. I want my phone to NOT be the main line but the "add a line for 9.99" deal that my phone is on now. any ideas how i would do that with having my moms phone still the main line on the family plan?

A. No, the refurbished iPhone 4 cannot be upgraded to. Here's the conversation with the AT&T sales rep. that proved that:

Me: That person on a family plan.
Specialist.: Okay so they are looking to add a line to their existing account right?
Me: Well, no. They want to upgrade their phone on their existing line.
Specialist.: Oh okay. Unfortunately that phone is not eligible to be upgraded to.
Me: So they have to start a new line.
Specialist.: That phone is only eligible to be purchased with a new plan or by adding a line.
Me: So the only thing they can do is to start a new line starting at $9.99 on the said family plan and add the data feature and 2 year contract? No can do on an upgrade?
Specialist.: That is correct.

Is it reasonable to own both an iPad 2 and iPhone 4?

Q. I already have the iPad, but I feel guilty for wanting to get an iPhone 4 because I found some really good deals for it on craigslist.. Is it worth it to possess both?

A. The iPad 2 is a tablet and the iPhone 4 is a phone. I know a lot of people who own both, including me. And if you're buying the iPhone because of its smaller screen, you can get an iPod Touch, but I recommend iPhone, it's worth it.

what's the difference between the iphone 4 and the iphone 5 for verizon?

Q. i could use my upgrade now and get the iphone 4 for verizon that i know is a good phone (my mom and many friends have it and love it) or i could wait like 2 weeks for the iphone 5. someone also told me about a deal that verizon does where you can get the iphone 4 now and if you want the iphone 5 when it comes out, then they will buy the iphone 4 back from you. is that true?

A. Since iPhone 5 ain't out yet, who knows?

And you need to watch out about the return period. In most states, it's only 14 days (I think it's 30 days in California, but check to be sure).
