A. No, they will never have a sale unless they come out with a new iPhone, which they will not anytime soon.

A. As long as you've synced it with your computer recently, then your data will be saved. As for jailbreaking, you could. But I feel like the only thing you'll gain is ringtones and a wifi hotspot. I'm just waiting for the 4G to go on sale so i can get the wifi hotspot legally, which is the only reason I'd jailbreak it in the first place.

How many Android phones are out there vs. iPhones?

I see figures all the time about first week sales (the iPhone 3GS sold 1.6 million units in the first week, the MyTouch sold 60,000 units, etc.), but how many Android phones are there total vs iPhones (original, 3G and 3GS)? My belief is that all the Android phones combined in the next two years will surpass the amount of iPhones, but no one Android phone will have market dominance.

A. This is the beauty of the Android platform for smart phones. It is an open source operating system for phones so more manufacturers can create more phones on the same platform. More phones means more development, more apps and more functionality. Plus, with all the competing models, you will have cheaper prices as the various manufacturers compete for your dollars.

We are already seeing this with Sprint lowering the price (via Best Buy) on their version of the HTC Hero to compete with the Verizon version (Eris).
