Why is the iphone price different across the world?

Q. i want to get an iphone, and i checked on the web and it said Steve Jobs just lowered the iphone price to $399 U.S.D. That translates to approx. $3200 HKD. Then why on the apple website, it says the iphone is $5200 HKD?

A. The iPhone price is currently $199 for 8GB, & $299 for 16GB.

That $5200 HKD is obviously the Hong Kong site. That price translates to about $671.10 USD.

The difference is those from the HK site are unlocked, therefore would cost more than the locked versions being sold in the US.

whats the difference in iPhone 4s prices compare to online?
Q. I know nothing about Iphones prices but i was wondering how much will a iPhone 4s 16Gb cost with a 2 year contract, and the price for buying one without a contract. Can i find them cheaper online? compare to just buying it in person? please be patient with me guys i know nothing about this.

A. In store, an iPhone 4s with a 2 year contract will cost $200, without a contract it's $650. The online prices are the same as the in store prices (maybe a little more because of shipping). You can buy used ones online for cheaper on sites like ebay and craigslist, but they're used and you can't always trust the seller.

How much is an iPhone [the cheapest un-used one?] and if im a new customer to AT&T?
Q. Ok so i have Verizon right now my contract didn't expire yet but i heard they slashed the iPhone price to $99 or is that just lies? And my question is how much would it be to change services to AT&T and get and iPhone?

A. The 8gb 3g iPhone is now $99 for new customers and AT&T customers eligible for a full upgrade. A 2 year contract is required.
The least expensive iPhone plan is $70/month for unlimited data and 450 rollover minutes. Texting is optional and extra.

To switch to AT&T, you will have to cancel your Verizon plan and pay the ETF which is either $175 or $200 less $5 for each completed month of your contract.
