4 wires in iphone cable to 2 wires in battery holder?

Q. im assuming red to red and black to black? but then what about the extra green and white wires in the iphone cable? where do they go?

A. Never assume anything.

Wire colours in such cables are not necessarily
assigned according to a standard pattern.

Before you proceed, find printed documentation
-- or its online equivalent --
that clearly and definitively shows the functions of the wires by colour.

If all of the wires are for audio (which is possible, but not certain),
don't connect any sort of power source to any of them.

If it is a USB cable, the red and black are power wires,
and the green and white are for digital data.

When I plug my iphone into my computer, does it use the computer's internet connection?
Q. I'm not in a 3g area and don't have wifi at work so my iphone internet is s-l-o-w, however my computer is connected to the local ethernet network which is fast fast fast. If I plug the iphone into the computer is there any way to get it to use the computer's internet connection? OK, probably not, but WHY NOT? Data goes down the iphone cable does it not?

A. No it is not possible, Yes, its true that the data that is shared between your computer and your Iphone comes from the internet, But It is first downloaded into a temporary folder on your computer (stuff like settings you have changed, songs you have downloaded, updates etc) and is then transferred to your IPhone when the cable is connected, not directly from the internet. sorry!

How to find out mobile phone number for iPhone 3GS?
Q. Hi,
I just bought an iPhone on a 24 month contract.

It came in the box with
-Instructions
-iPhone
-Simcard
-EarPhones
-Wall Charger
-USB iPhone Cable

but i actually dont know, the mobile phone number?

How do i find it out?

The iPhone is on a contract with Vodafone.

A. - Call your home phone, get the number off the caller ID and write it down

- At the top of your contacts list, it should read "My number: XXX-XXX-XXXX"

- Under Settings > General > About, your number should be listed there as well.

Hope this helps.
