I have an iphone 3G bought from Dubai. Can i download apps or will my phone not work with them?

Q. I heard that only iphones bought from the US can download apps and still work properly.

A. My favorite site for iPhone apps is http://www.appsunlimited.info

It is not completely free, but you don't need a credit card, as you can use paypal to join.

I have been burned SO MANY TIMES by using free apps sites, being infected by horrible cases of spyware and adware â I had to reformat my hard drive 2 times in the past year just to get rid of it all, as none of my antivirus, spyware and registry cleaning programs could never clean it completely.

To be honest, you get what you pay for â if its âfreeâ there is a cost to it â one way or another. After I reformatted my drive 2 times guess how many apps I had left â ZERO â because EVERYTHING had to be deleted and started over from scratch.

AppsUnlimited is powered by SmartApps and NetIphone, and is the largest, most popular database of 100% spyware and virus free downloads. You pay for security and selection.

It's only a one-time fee for access, normally $49, for lifetime and unlimited access. Everything is free from that point on. But, if you enter this coupon code, âBESTBUY,â you get $15 off instantly.

Truly and honestly, there is no other site like this that has SO MUCH, and MOST OF WHICH you will not find anywhere from any of the DANGEROUS âfree sites.â

You should check them out, they hook you up big time, and they also include Satellite TV for your PC for free with the package.

Does Apple make different iphones for US and European market?
Q. If my iphone bought in the USA will not work with European SIM cards, then how Iphone could be used in Europe and elsewhere (with Sim cards of local operators)? This would mean that Apple makes different types of Iphones for different parts of the world? Is it right?

A. Your phone is almost certainly SIM-locked, meaning it will not work with any SIM card not issued by your home network.
That's the way most phones are sold, especially the discounted ones you get with subscription plans.

It's a software feature, and can be removed if you have the right tools, but doing so is a breach of contract with your provider while the contract lasts (usually 2 years for new phones).

What is happenning to my iPhone and how do i fix it?
Q. My iphone (bought in the Philippines, using in Canada) froze so i pressed the home and unlock button at the same time. I've done that couple of times but last night it said to connect my iphone with itunes so i did. Then, it said to restore it so i did. Then now it says the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported. Help me please, tell me what to do.

A. just as maryann stated - when you clicked on restore, it got set back to original configuration (probably newer firmware if older than 1.1.4) and now only accepts AT&T sim.

just need to unlock again and you should be fine. just remember not to update/restore thru itunes, otherwise this will happen again.

there's a freeware that we use and it takes less than 5 minutes with your exisitng data cable. do a search on a major search engine and you should find it. it's the same software that some are selling for $$$ on some auction sites.

good luck
