A. Well if you're sure you can get another one without a problem then you should jailbreaking voides the warranty but yeah jailbreaking will most likely make it slower and it can make it unstable if you don't know what you're doing

A. There is absolutely no way to tell unless you either look at the box or if you look into the settings.
Just an FYI: the iPhone 4 does not show the storage capacity on the back like the other iPhones do.
