How long is a refurbished iPhone 3g supposed to last without having to charge?

Q. Should I be alarmed that it only last about 2 hours before I have to throw it on the charger? I can't go anywhere without a wall charger and a car charger.

A. Hi Crystal!

First of all congrats on the iPhone
secondly, the battery should be lasting more than two hours.
Apple's numbers on the iPhone 3G's battery life put it at 10 / 5 hours talk on GSM / 3G (respectively), 5 hours 3G data, 6 hours WiFi, 24 hours music and 7 hours video.

As any device is used over time, it is discharged and recharged. The cells in the battery will indeed dry up and you will notice that it needs to charge more
often.

Another symtom of a bad battery is that when plugged in it jumps quickly and appears to charge quite rapidly.
it willj jump from nearly dead to half full in a matter of minutes in same cases.
I would be on the phone or in the store with AT&T as soon as you can as these phones have limited warranties on them.

Even playing full 3g games your phone needs to last more than 2 hours!
